Finding Success as an Artist (w/Jeremiah Sanders)
Welcome back to the second episode of Minnesota Opera’s new podcast, crescendo: building the future of the arts! This podcast aims to provide artists of any age with current perspectives in navigating performance art industries. On this episode, Rick and Jared talk about how to define success as an artist. They will explore images of success in their respective career paths and compare that to the reality of being successful. They also chat about setting reasonable and realistic expectations with an emphasis on differentiating between aspirations and achievable, incremental goals. Then, they'll sit down with current Minnesota Opera Resident Artist, baritone Jeremiah Sanders (he/they) about their experience in MNOp's upcoming production of La bohème, and what they have learned of the course their two-year residency. Jeremiah also gives an insight into his approach to goal-setting and bringing aspirations into reality.
